Welcome!! 2023/2024 is year 8 for me to work as the High School Counselor and as a Southern Tornado. I am excited to be here and if I were to able to sum by job up in one phrase, it would be, "I am here to help kids get through high school". One goal I have is to be approachable; I want the students at Southern to feel comfortable speaking with me about their concerns, interests, and challenges. --- Previously, I worked with grades 3-5 as the Guidance Counselor at Meigs Intermediate School from 2013-2016. I also am retired from the military and am a great resource for students considering that career. I was born in Fremont, Ohio and moved to this area at age 15. I am married to my best friend, Misty. Misty works in this same district as a kindergarten teacher. I have a daughter, Sheena. She is in her 1st year of teaching first grade students. She lives in New Mexico.  I have a son, Rusty. He graduated from at Meigs High School. He is currently a senior attending Ohio University pursuing a teaching degree in history. He will be a student teacher here this year as a social studies teacher. I have two stepsons, Crenson and Kyler. I was lucky enough to be their school counselor for at least some of their high school. --- I am here to help our students in a variety of ways, some of which includes: transcripts, scheduling, scholarships, career planning. college admissions, and personal growth and development.

As the school counselor at Southern I will be working hard to support the success of the students. I will be collaborating with Mr. Otto, Mrs. McNickle, teachers, staff, parents and the community to assist our students in meeting their maximum potential.

Please feel free to contact me via email or (740)-949-4222 ext 2400
