Southern Local School District held a Red Carpet Readers Literacy Night last night, thanks to the hard work and commitment to our school from our teachers, support staff, administration, Board of Education, students, parents, and many generous community businesses.
This event followed Right to Read Week/Read Across America (February 27-March 3), which included: classroom door decoration competition, Tornado spirit day, dress like your favorite character, Wacky Wednesday, and wear your favorite hat day
Literacy Night had many fun activities such as: a book walk, wax museum, masquerade mask making, book mark making, storybook puppets, story and crafts from Meigs County Library, paper fortune tellers, artistic representation of the themes of the movie Outsiders through artwork and film, and Red Carpet Readers Award ceremony.
Thank you to all that attended and help make this night a success.
